Salaam all, I’ve created created this campaign page on behalf of a dear friend of mine who’s in need of help. For privacy reasons her identity is being kept anonymous, but if you feel you need more information please just message me privately.
My friend is 23 years old and was diagnosed with a benign brain tumor in fall of 2019. Though it is benign, this doesn’t mean it doesn’t leave permanent chronic health issues. There’s no cure for her illness, she takes ten medications a day which runs her about $250 a month just for medications and often has to ration medications because she can’t afford them. Ontop of that she gets multiple treatments done that range from $200-$500 monthly. She’s a full time graduate student and cannot work, her family provides for her to the best of their ability but as two other people in her house are also chronically ill, money is severely tight, especially after everyone was laid off from covid with the exception of her dad.
Since 2019 she’s accumulated a lot of medical debt and is hoping the community can help her with it before she moves for graduate school. The ongoing treatments, more undiagnosed issues she’s still getting tested for, and constant problems with insurance have no deadline as this is her new reality.
Thank you for your support and kindness.
