Summary: My 15-year-old cat Hoshi is in pain and urgently needs dental treatment and kidney care. I’m struggling to afford her vet bill - any help means everything.
------
Hi everyone,
I’m asking for help for my beloved cat, Hoshi. She’s nearly 15 years old, and she’s not just a pet - she’s my family and my best friend.
Last year, Hoshi went through a serious kidney infection and dehydration. While she bravely fought through it, we discovered she has ongoing kidney disease. Since then, I’ve done everything I can to keep her comfortable - switching her to a wet food diet, keeping her hydrated, and giving her as much care and love as possible.
But recently, things have become much harder.
Hoshi now urgently needs dental treatment. Her teeth have significant buildup and decay, and it’s clearly causing her pain. I’ve been blending her food so she can still eat, which helped for a while, but now she’s sleeping more, hiding away, and not acting like herself. It’s heartbreaking to see. She also needs her kidneys checked again, as her condition may be worsening and could be contributing to what’s happening.
The total cost for her care is estimated at around £1,415, which includes consultation, X-rays, blood tests, dental work, and a day stay at the vet. While I could put any additional costs on a credit card if absolutely necessary, I’m already struggling to stay afloat and want to avoid falling further into debt if I can.
I’ve been selling my belongings on Vinted and trying to find extra work, but it’s only been enough to manage day-to-day living. On top of that, Hoshi’s condition has increased her ongoing care costs—wet food and more frequent litter changes, as she now uses the tray several times more each day.
That’s why I’m reaching out.
If you’re able to donate—even a small amount—it would truly mean everything to us. Small contributions really do add up and could help get Hoshi the care she needs as soon as possible.
She’s my baby, my companion, and I love her dearly. I just want her to be comfortable, safe, and free from pain in the time she has.
Thank you so much for reading, donating, or sharing ❤️
Ally
