My very best horse, Cessna, having EHV-1 is one of the worst things I’ve ever had to go through. It’s excruciatingly to see my best friend confused, in so much discomfort and weak. I don’t think I would understand how devastating this is unless I was standing right where I am now, in my shoes. The vet bills are stacking up and even with the donations I have received personally, we are still drowning in bills. The donations have certainly helped A LOT though and are extremely appreciated.

Unfortunately, this goes way beyond just me and Cessna. So many of us are affected, racking up thousands everyday with horses in the ICU fighting this virus. EHV-1 is relentless and if the horse survives, it’s still weeks at least of meds and MONTHS of rehab and recovery to get full physical function back. This is going to cost thousands for every horse affected. Cessna’s bills have already surpassed 10k in a week and they are only just going to continue to grow, possibly for months. Not knowing where the money is going to come from to cover all these bills is NOT a welcome feeling. I know everyone else with a horse fighting EHV-1 is facing the same problem and it’s on my heart to help everyone I can, even when I need help myself.

If it’s a possibility for you finically at all, please donate whatever is possible to these owners. With the holidays approaching, this is NOT the time most people can afford thousands extra in vet bills and absolutely any support will help, even if it’s just a couple dollars. Donations will be accepted through this GoFundMe and my personal payment apps. I will be taking ALL donations we receive and evenly dispersing them to the owners in need of financial assistance.

At the very least I ask you to share this fundraiser so we can get the outreach we need in the equine community. If you or someone you know has a horse affected by EHV-1 and need help with vet bills, please reach out to me with your info so I can get a list started to get funds dispersed ASAP!

I would love to get these owners assistance as soon as possible, ANYTHING at all helps and every dollar will be greatly appreciated. EHV-1 is a battle I’d never wish on anyone, but I guess this was meant to give me the strength and empathy to stand with others and use my platform to help every horse and owner facing the same fight.
