On Saturday 9 August, just three days before their 12th birthday, a massive fire tore through Evesham and destroyed Hooray’s warehouse, freezer van, walk-in freezers, packaging, generators, and thousands of pounds worth of gelato. Thousands of pounds of damage has been caused.

Insurance may cover some costs, but the real loss — the heart, the time, the effort — can never be replaced. We’re raising £10,000 to contribute towards rebuilding what was lost and to get Hooray’s back to serving joy in a cone.

Who we are

Hooray’s is an independent British Gelato Kitchen in Stratford-upon-Avon, founded by mother-and-daughter team Sasha and Sara. Since opening their doors 12 years ago, Hooray’s has become far more than just a place for gelato. It’s a hub for friendship, family, and celebration.

We know this because we were on Hooray’s very first staff team the summer they opened, and we’ve stayed connected ever since. From the very start, Sasha and Sara created something magical — a space that brings joy and generosity to everyone who walks through the door.

What happened

On 9 August, a devastating fire in Bretforton destroyed Hooray’s warehouse and wiped out:

• Freezer van

• Walk-in freezers

• Packaging

• Generators

• Thousands of pounds worth of gelato stock

The fire has caused thousands of pounds worth of damage. While insurance claims are still in progress, it will never cover the full extent of the loss — or the time, effort, and heart that went into building it.

Why this matters

Hooray’s isn’t just about gelato. It’s where baby showers, birthdays, and milestone moments are celebrated. It’s where locals and visitors alike find joy, laughter, and a sense of community. For Stratford-upon-Avon and beyond, Hooray’s is a pillar of community life.

We cannot just watch by and do nothing.

Our goal

We’re aiming to raise £10,000 to contribute towards rebuilding all that was lost, specifically:

• A new freezer van

• New walk-in freezers

• Replacement packaging and essentials to restart production
