HELP HOOLIGAN BRING STUDENT THEATRE TO UCLA!

Who We Are

HOOLIGAN Theatre Company is a 100% student-run theatre company here on UCLA’s campus! We are a not-for-profit organization that strives to provide the students of UCLA with the chance to be a part of professional theatre productions, no matter what their major is, and provide free opportunities for UCLA students to watch quality theatre. Our aspiration is to revitalize, educate, and enrich the theater community.

The Problem

As exciting as putting on two shows is, student theatre is very expensive to produce. Both shows require budgets for costumes, hair and makeup, props, and scenic pieces. In addition, our current fundraising strategies have been put on hold due to the pandemic. Due to the COVID-19 crisis, HOOLIGAN must get creative with our fundraising, and that is where we turn to you! We hope that you can donate any amount big or small to keep this organization alive until we can return in-person to the theater!

We Can’t Do This Alone

Theatre is an incredibly meaningful experience for all those involved, whether you are in the lead, an ensemble member, the director, a costume designer, or even an audience member.

We want to make theater accessible to everyone, especially those from low-income or underserved families. This GoFundMe will allow for those to pursue their passion even if they cannot contribute their own money. The opportunity to watch plays does not come cheap, and for many UCLA students, HOOLIGAN may provide their first exposure to professional-quality theatre. Furthermore, HOOLIGAN's reach extends beyond its membership and even beyond UCLA, helping preserve theatre and the arts throughout society, at a time when funding for the arts has taken a hit. In order to continue having this far-reaching effect, we ask you to please donate so that we can create. You can have a direct impact on the quest to sustain the arts at UCLA and throughout our society. Even the smallest donation can have a big effect!

A Little More About HOOLIGAN

Founded in 2006, HOOLIGAN Theatre Company is in its 16th season. Throughout each school year, HOOLIGAN produces and creates three mainstage musicals, one mainstage play, a cabaret-style Education Showcase, and 24-Hour Musical to benefit No Limits. We are open to students of all majors, and many people find their home here through becoming a member of the cast, of tech, or by becoming a staff member! Even more join us as audience members at all of our incredible shows.
