Help Honor Yuying Lo & Support His Family

We recently lost my nephew, Yuying Lo, and our family is still trying to process the loss. Yuying had such a kind heart and loved his siblings deeply. Even though he grew up without a father figure, he naturally stepped into that role for his younger brothers and sisters. He was always looking out for them, making them laugh, and making sure they felt loved. He meant so much to his family.

About a year and a half ago, Yuying suffered a stroke and spent that time in a nursing home, often in and out of consciousness. We held on to hope that he would regain full consciousness, but sadly that day never came. Through everything he went through, we never forgot the person he was—gentle, caring, and always wanting to help others. Yuying volunteered at the Hmong American Center and loved giving back to his community. He also had a dream of becoming a firefighter one day.

Yuying was also a believer, and our family finds comfort in knowing he is now at peace. We are deeply grateful for the prayers, encouragement, and support from our church community during this incredibly difficult time.

Over the past year and a half, Yuying’s mom, a single mother, spent as much time as she could by his side. She used much of her PTO and also had to take unpaid time off work so she could be there for him. Being with her son during this time was the most important thing to her, but it also meant a significant loss of income for the family.

Now, while grieving the loss of Yuying, she is also trying to support her other children as they cope with losing their brother in their own ways. Along with the emotional weight of this loss, the family is also facing financial strain from the past year after so much time away from work while caring for Yuying.

We created this fundraiser to help ease some of that burden and give Yuying’s mom the time she needs to support and care for her children as they heal and move forward together.

Yuying’s absence leaves a huge hole in our hearts. He was a loving brother, son, nephew, and friend, and he will always be remembered for his kindness and his innocence.

If you knew Yuying, you knew how deeply he loved his family and how naturally he cared for others. Your support helps continue the love and care he showed to his family and community every single day.
