Help Honor William Boes with a Celebration of Life
Donation protected
My father William Boes passed away this week and with him the world lost one of its quiet giants.
For over a decade my dad devoted every ounce of his retirement to serving those who needed it most. Five days a week without fail he showed up at LAHIA Love and Hope in Action in Florida ready to cook coordinate and contribute to the lives of those experiencing homelessness. He was not there for praise. He was not there for accolades. He was there because people were hungry. Because someone needed to show up. Because it was the right thing to do, and because he cared deeply about the lives around him, as he always has.
He spent the last ten years of his life doing exactly what he believed mattered most giving people down on their luck a second chance and a hot meal to go with it. Through hurricanes scorching heat and personal hardship my dad showed up. Monday through Friday with quiet dignity and relentless love
William was not just a community pillar. He was my father, a brother, and a towering intellect who never stopped learning. A voracious reader and a sharp thinker he lived with humility and purpose always seeking to better himself and uplift those around him. He taught me the value of service of integrity of showing up not just for your family but for your entire community.
I want to honor him in a way that reflects the enormous heart and humble strength he gave to others. We are planning a celebration of life service in Florida for the community he was so close with the people and organizations that meant the most to him especially the church he attended Saint Andrew Catholic Church
and the LAHIA community he loved like family.
If you have ever met my dad or simply believe in honoring people who dedicate their lives to helping others I am asking for your help. Every contribution will go toward his funeral services and the celebration of a life spent in service to others. If funds exceed the cost of the service the remainder will be donated directly to LAHIA in his name.
If you can give thank you. If you can share thank you. If you can attend please reach out
Let us send off this remarkable man the way he lived with love with dignity and with community
