Our family is devastated by the tragic and senseless loss of my little sister, Veronica Lopez, who was taken from us far too soon at just 24 years old. Veronica was the youngest of five girls, full of life, love, and dreams for the future. She had the kind of smile that could light up a room and a heart that made everyone around her feel loved and valued. She was a daughter, a sister, a friend, and so much more to those who knew her. The pain of losing her is unimaginable, and our hearts are shattered. On Thursday, our family received the devastating news that Veronica's life was taken as the result of a domestic violence incident. What should have been an ordinary day turned into a nightmare that no family should ever have to endure. We are now left trying to navigate an overwhelming loss while processing the trauma of losing someone we loved so deeply. As our family grieves, we are facing many unexpected challenges and expenses that have arisen as a result of this tragedy. Donations will help support our family during this difficult time by assisting with lost income from time away from work, travel expenses, grief counseling and mental health support, legal and administrative costs, and other unforeseen needs as we work toward healing and seeking justice for Veronica.

In addition, we are hoping to raise enough funds to give Veronica a beautiful, lasting gravestone—a place where family and friends can visit, remember her, and honor the life she lived. Having a permanent memorial for her means so much to us, and it is one final way we can show the love she deserves.
