Help remember Maria Izquierdo with kindness and love

My name is Billi, I am the sister-in-law and guardian/parent of the children of Maria, who this plea is being submitted for. We are a household of 8 in total, with 6 kids (18yr ,17yr ,15yr ,11yr ,8yr and 7yr). This fundraiser is on behalf of our family. Below is a small summary of our plea and story.

Our family, our children have suffered a tragic loss of their mother Maria Izquierdo. She was a victim of gun violence, whose life was taken 05/04/2025.

Maria gave us the gift of 3 wonderful children who we have

raised as our own due to an unfortunate familial circumstance but before any of it occurred, she was a loving mother; and that is the mother they choose to remember that they are now mourning.

Since the moment they were placed in our care Maria was present, continuing to be a mother, a sister, a friend but unfortunately, she fell into a very dark place in her life which caused communication

to stop with the kids, but she would call to check in and request an update on the kid's wellbeing and send her love.

Regardless of anything in between, before or after, they love her and always will. She was a human being, their mother, a sister, a daughter, an aunt, a friend, who was taken from this world too soon, robbed from the children receiving closure, or any communication they could have seen fit.

We come to this platform with a heavy heart and their consent seeking help to give her a proper burial not just for her or us but for them, her kids, our kids who are holding to the memories of the mother they remember they once had.
