On October 2, 2025, our family lost our beloved mother, Virginia “Ginney” Martel, far too soon.

Ginney had been living with heart problems for some time and was scheduled for surgery today. Sadly, she passed away yesterday before she could have it. We take comfort in knowing she’s now at peace, but our hearts ache with the loss.

Ginney had a magnetic personality that could light up any room. She was witty, full of charm, and never afraid to speak her mind — often with a sense of humor that would make you laugh. Beneath her bold personality was a deeply caring soul who treasured her family, especially her children and grandchildren, while always holding a special love for her siblings. She had a way of making people feel seen, heard, and loved, and everyone was lucky to know her.

As her children, Jen and Chris, we want to honor her final wishes and help her to rest with dignity through cremation. Ginney did not have life insurance, and we're left with not only the cost of these arrangements along with her remaining bills and her estate.
