Help Honor the Life of Shahrashad Levin

Aloha everyone,

This is Ziyad and Rashad Muhammad, the sons of the late Pastor Shah also known as Papa Shah. It is with heavy hearts that we are writing on behalf of our beloved father who passed away on June 7, 2025 in Honolulu, Hawaiʻi.

Shahrashad Zakee Levin was born on September 12, 1947 in Sioux City, Iowa and raised in Kansas City, Missouri. He then spent the latter part of his life in Oakland, California and Waiʻanae, Hawaiʻi—a place he deeply loved and where he faithfully served the community as a pastor.

Our father lived a profound life as a U.S. Army veteran, a spiritual leader, and a devoted father and grandfather. He was a beacon of hope in the community, often offering powerful prayers and words of encouragement to those in need. His presence brought comfort, and his voice carried healing.

Now, in this time of loss, we humbly ask for your prayers and support as we navigate this difficult journey without him.

He leaves behind three sons, nine grandchildren, and two sisters who are all honored to carry on his legacy of faith, service, and aloha.

We are asking for your help to cover:

• Funeral and burial expenses

• Memorial services that reflect his cultural and spiritual journey

• Honoring his military service and community dedication

• Family support as we honor his life and memory

The date, time, and location of memorial services will be shared as soon as arrangements are finalized.
