This past weekend, my beloved brother, James Moore, passed away unexpectedly while in a local nursing home in College Station.

James was a lifelong resident of Bryan/College Station and proudly served our country as active duty in the Army during the Vietnam War. After his honorable discharge, he returned home and worked hard at BTU, building a life in the community he loved, always lending a helping hand to others.

James never married or had children, but he was a devoted brother, a wonderful uncle, and a loyal friend to many. He was the kind of man who could light up a room with laughter and always had a story to tell.

Unfortunately, James did not leave behind a Will, Trust, or life insurance policy. With no arrangements in place, the responsibility of handling everything has fallen on me. I am also struggling to obtain any of his paperwork from the VA, which has delayed assistance I might have otherwise received.

Because of costs and time constraints, I will need to move forward with cremation (and later burial of his ashes). My deepest wish is to honor James in a way that reflects the amazing man he was—a Veteran, a family man, and a soul who gave so much love and joy to others.

I am humbly asking for your help. Any donation, no matter the size, will go directly toward covering his cremation and related expenses. If you are unable to give, I would be so grateful if you could share this campaign with others. My greatest wish is to have an actual funeral with full Military Honors with the 21-gun salute. If I am unable to get all of the money for this, due to time constraints, I will be forced to cremate my brother.
