Help Honor the Life & Legacy of Minnesota Freedom Fighter Larry “Fox” Mitchell




Story:

It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved brother, Larry “Fox” Mitchell — a true warrior, protector, and servant to both his country and his community.




Larry was more than a friend, father, and brother — he was a U.S. Army and Navy Veteran who dedicated years of his life to serving our nation. Even after hanging up his military uniform, his service didn’t stop. Larry fought a different kind of battle — the invisible wounds of PTSD, a struggle faced by so many of our heroes.




He was a proud member of the Minnesota Freedom Fighters, standing on the front lines during the George Floyd unrest and countless marches and protests in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Larry put his life on the line to protect his community during some of our city’s most turbulent and painful moments. He was there to shield the vulnerable, keep the peace, and ensure that voices demanding justice could be heard safely.




Larry’s courage was matched only by his compassion. He was a man who carried himself with honor, looked out for those around him, and never turned his back when someone was in need. Whether in uniform overseas or on the streets of Minneapolis, Larry lived by a code — to protect, to serve, and to love his people.




Unfortunately, his battle with PTSD and the weight of life’s challenges became too much. His passing is not just a personal loss to those who knew and loved him, but a loss to the entire community he fought to protect.




We are now rallying together to give Larry the honorable farewell he deserves and to ensure that his children are supported as they move forward without their father’s physical presence, but with the strength of his spirit.

Larry gave his all for his country and his community — now we want to give back to him by honoring his life and making sure his legacy lives on through his children.
