Hello, my name is Dena.
On January 6, 2025, the Lord picked another flower & the father of my children, Mr. Kevin Jackson, answered the Lord's call. This was a sudden and unexpected loss for our family.
God blessed Kevin with 36 years of life, and we shared 10 of those years together when a life-changing experience struck our family.
Kevin was a true testimony of just how God specializes and is a miracle worker.
In November 2018, he sustained a brain injury as a head gunshot victim; however, by God's grace and mercy, he survived and made an amazing recovery. Kevin had to have multiple surgeries that included removing part of his skull at the time of his injury and later replaced, as well as other procedures to provide him with as full of a recovery as possible. He worked hard on his recovery so that he could return home. Kevin spent the first 2.5 years following his injury in Birmingham before transferring back to our hometown where he was able to be closer to our children and family. Though he was able to walk and talk again, overall it left him disabled and unable to regain full control and use of his left side. Due to the level of care he required, he remained in a rehab facility until his passing. This was very unexpected. Outside of him having a TBI and being disabled, he was in a normal state of health.
Our hearts are hurting but are thankful to God for the additional time he blessed Kevin with to share with each of our children, as our youngest child was born 3 months after his brain injury. During the years we shared together, we were blessed with 4 beautiful children whom he leaves behind--ages 13, 10, 7, and a 5-year-old who will turn 6 next month. This is a very difficult time for the family, especially our children, as we prepare to continue this long road ahead.
Unfortunately, he was without insurance and resources to cover funeral & memorial expenses.
We would like to have a Celebration of Life for Kevin and provide our children, whom he loved dearly, and family with a final farewell.
Your donation would be greatly appreciated.
We thank you for all of your love, prayers, and support to our family during this difficult time
With Love,
Adena
