Help Honor the Life and Legacy of Frank Chang Jr.
Donation protected
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Frank Chang Jr., who left this world peacefully in Las Vegas, NV, where he had resided since 2017. Frank was born in Kohala, Hawai‘i, and lived a life marked by service, love, and unwavering dedication to his family, faith, and country.
Frank proudly served in the United States Army for 11 years, including during the Vietnam War, and was a member of the esteemed Honor Guard. He was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in the Melchizedek Priesthood and as part of the Sunday School Presidency. He also dedicated time to a labor mission on O‘ahu and helped build what is now Brigham Young University–Hawai‘i.
Frank was more than a soldier and a servant—he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Elizabeth Moanaala Chang (Su‘a), and by some of his cherished children.
He leaves behind a legacy of love through his children: Randolph Chang, Frank Chang III, Alapa‘i Mei Ling Chang, Derek Chang, Roland Chang, Bruce Chang, Norma Jean Chang, Keoni Chang, Nani Kamali‘i-Chang, and Milton Chang. He is also remembered by his siblings Susan Hauniu, Raymond Chang, and Florence Pua, and by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family members who carry his memory in their hearts.
Throughout his life, Frank called many places home—including Hilo and O‘ahu, Hawai‘i; Fulda, Germany; Killeen, Texas; and Carson, California. He worked for both FedEx and UPS, eventually retiring from UPS. He also shared his love of music with his wife, performing together in their band, The Kalani Islanders.
We are asking for your help to give Frank the honorable funeral and memorial service he deserves. All funds raised will go toward covering funeral expenses and supporting the family during this time of grief.
Any donation—no matter the size—or even sharing this campaign would mean so much. Thank you for helping us celebrate the extraordinary life of Frank Chang Jr.
