Help Honor the Life and Legacy of Cavin Yarbrough

We are reaching out on behalf of Alisa Peoples to ask for your support during an incredibly difficult time.

Cavin Yarbrough—beloved husband, musical icon, and founding member of Yarbrough & Peoples—passed away on Thursday, June 19, 2025, at the age of 72, due to complications from heart disease. As Alisa grieves the loss of her life partner, she is also facing financial challenges, including mounting medical bills and the unexpected costs associated with his burial and funeral.

This GoFundMe has been created to help alleviate those burdens and allow Cavin to be honored with the dignity he deserves. The goal is to give him a proper farewell, including the opportunity for him to lie in state—a tribute befitting a man whose music touched millions.

Any contributions will go directly toward covering medical, burial, and funeral expenses. A donation will also be made to the Desoto Animal Shelter, in honor of Cavin’s lifelong love for animals.

Cavin’s legacy lives on in the music he created, the people he uplifted, and the love he shared with Alisa. Your support—no matter the amount—will make a meaningful difference during this time of mourning and remembrance.
