My name is Tashica Bailey, and with a heavy heart, our family shares this difficult journey. Our beloved brother, son, father, and friend, Terry, is currently facing.

On Friday, June 13th, Terry began experiencing the early signs of an asthma attack. Knowing his condition, he called 911 for help and then reached out to his brother, asking if he could come over because he wasn’t feeling well and believed his asthma was starting to flare up. his brother who lived 25 minutes away immediately dropped the phone and was on his way. When paramedics arrived, they gave Terry oxygen and placed him in a wheelchair. They explained that they were unable to bring the gurney up the two flights of stairs and through the doorway. Because of Terry’s weight, it was a difficult and physically demanding effort for them to carry him down in a seated position. He lost consciousness during this time, but CPR was not performed. He was transported down two flights of stairs, across a breezeway, and past a pool all before being placed in the ambulance. It was only after he was inside the ambulance that CPR efforts began but then By then, Terry had gone into cardiac arrest.
He was rushed to the hospital, but the lack of oxygen had caused severe damage. Doctors later expressed confusion over the extent of his brain injury, especially since paramedics stated he had only been without oxygen for about two minutes. Despite all efforts, the damage was irreversible.
Terry is currently on life support. Machines are keeping his heart beating and oxygen flowing to his lungs, but he has no brain activity, and his organs are slowly shutting down due to the lack of brain function. We have been told he will not recover and to prepare our final words.
Terry was a man of faith who loved the Most High, and always leaned on Him for strength. Even through health challenges and personal struggles, Terry fought to keep moving forward. He walked to and from work every day under the Arizona sun not just to improve his health, but because he had no other transportation. He showed up, even when it was hard.
As a family, we are preparing to say goodbye. We are asking for your support to help with a cremation services and home going service arrangements because Terry did not have any insurance or health savings. We are grateful for any amount you can give, and we ask for your continued prayers and love during this deeply painful time.

Rest in peace, My big brother Terry. No more pain. No more struggle. Only peace in the presence of the most high, our creator. You will always be in our hearts.
