It is with heavy hearts that we share the tragic passing of our beloved Simone Lyke, who lost her life in a brutal and senseless dog attack on what would have been her 32nd birthday. Simone was viciously mauled by her boyfriend’s dogs—an attack so severe it led to the amputation of her arm and devastating injuries to her vital organs. Despite the efforts of medical professionals, the injuries were too extensive for her to survive.
What makes this even more heartbreaking is the fact that Simone was attacked for over 23 minutes with no one there to help her. Her family, some traveling over 17 hours from Chicago and Florida, rushed to her side to be with her during her final moments—moments no family should ever have to endure.
Simone was the light in every room—loving, vibrant, and always ready to help those around her. She brought joy to her friends, family, and everyone lucky enough to know her. Now, we are left mourning a beautiful soul taken far too soon under circumstances that could—and should—have been prevented.
The dogs involved in this tragedy were known to be aggressive. The primary dog responsible, an American Bully Pitbull, had previously bitten multiple people. Simone’s boyfriend was fully aware of this and failed to provide adequate restraint or safety measures in the home. Since Simone’s death, the story of what happened that day has changed multiple times, and her family has yet to receive clear answers or justice.
We are now asking for your support. We want to give Simone the memorial service she deserves and begin the difficult process of seeking legal counsel to hold the responsible parties accountable. Your contributions will help with:
