Help Honor Sharron Carter's Dedication

Donation protected
Support is needed for Sharron Carter's Funeral and Medical expenses.

Sharron Carter is a remarkable individual. She was the last of the original cooks at K&W Cafeteria, dedicating over four and a half decades of her life to the company. Sharron began working at the Coliseum Drive location at 16 and later moved to the Healy Drive location in her late 20s.

Sharron's dedication to K&W stemmed from her love for cooking and helping others in any way she could, which she inherited from her mother. Her mother and grandmother taught her to cook at an early age, cooking most of the homemade meals and desserts she served at K& W was a Sunday after church tradition in her family.

During her time at K&W, Sharron continued to develop her cooking and leadership skills, taking on various roles such as overseeing the serving line, food prepping and meal planning, cooking, and at the request of Gary who selected her personally to assist with the catering needs outside the restaurant. Gary would utilize Sharron's skills and knowledge to train staff and managers in new locations throughout North Carolina and South Carolina. Gary and Sharron bonded over the years based on her willingness to support the growth of the company and her strong work ethic and dependability. Gary and other management members shared a lifelong friendship beyond the workplace that Sharron felt was more like a second family.

Sharron's impact extended beyond the commitment to ownership and the customers she served, as she also helped many individuals from the community secure employment at K&W. Outside of cooking, she loved making gift baskets and crocheting baby blankets to give to others, especially for many of her co-worker's kids. If you were expecting a baby, you were receiving a baby blanket.
Sharron showed unwavering dedication, often sacrificing time with her family for the job she loved, until she was physically unable to work. Sharron sacrificed her entire life for K&W, so much so that she missed the opportunity to retire to enjoy the things she loved like going to the beach, high school and college graduations, spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and allowing us to serve her as she has done for some many peoples the past 45 plus years. Her absence will undoubtedly be deeply felt at K&W, as it is unlikely that the company will ever find another employee as devoted as Sharron.
