Help Honor Sarah Prater's Memory
Donation protected
Our precious Momma, Sarah Gaye (Conley) Prater, went to her eternal home on April 20, 2025, Easter Sunday, after a terminal cancer diagnosis only 3 weeks ago. Sarah was not only our Momma and more; she was a wife, daughter, sister, aunt, friend, and companion. She brought laughter, unconditional love, strength, and a special light to so many of us.
No family should ever have to face the sudden financial strain that comes with honoring the life of a loved one and the, once so simple, burial of their physical bodies. Fact is, we could all share a million reasons why life isn't fair and the many sacrifices we've made just to simply afford our journey on earth.
For us, rearranging our lives, homes, careers, and goals was an instant reaction when we learned Mom was terminally ill. Without one complaint, selfish moment, or unwillingness to make sacrifices, we banded together and cared for our Momma 24/7, to the best of our ability. We considered this a true honor and an opportunity to return the love and sacrifices she afforded us in life. The reality that our family would have to sacrifice time with our matriarch in order to afford the sudden stop at the end of our journey was never brought into question.
Throughout our short journey, a meal train was created that has eased the burden of meal planning and freed up time from cooking that we were able to share with Mom. Many of you have asked how you can help, or what you can do to help our family during this devastating time and suddenly, in an instant, the answer became so clear. We are in need of monetary donations to cover the costs of funeral services and burial expenses for our very deserving mother.
We appreciate everyone who has texted, called, visited, prayed, donated, cooked, and supported each of us throughout the last month. But the reality is, our burden comes at the time we should be grieving and processing what just happened. If donating through the website is not how you would like to extend help, please contact one of us with further information. Service information will be shared as soon as possible.
From the Dutton, Pullen, and Cullor families, thank you again. Happy Easter and God bless you all!
