My name is Shelby, and I am reaching out for support after the recent loss of my beloved husband, Roger Lee Black. Roger was a truly special person whose charisma could spark a laugh anywhere he went. He had a heart as big as the world and was always ready to help anyone in need, often giving the shirt off his back to make someone else's day brighter. His generosity and kindness touched so many lives, and his unique sense of humor—always saying, “Always the bridesmaid, never the bride”—brought joy to everyone around him. Losing him has left a huge hole in my heart and in the lives of all who knew him.

I am hoping to raise funds to help cover the costs of Roger’s funeral, a celebration of life, cremation, and a special urn that will honor his memory with his favorite saying. I want to make sure his final goodbye is as special as he was. Because I do not have a vehicle, I will also need support for transportation to make arrangements and attend services, relying on Uber to get where I need to go. This is a very difficult time, and I am doing my best to honor Roger’s wishes and remember the great times we shared.

I chose for him to donate his organs and tissues. His gifts saved the lives of four people, all men. Roger’s gift of heart saved a life of a male in his 50s. His gift of liver saved a male in his 60s. His gift of left kidney saved the life of a male in his 50s and Roger’s gift of right kidney saved a male in his 60s.

Please help me make Roger’s final goodbye truly special. Your support will mean so much, not just to me, but to everyone who loved Roger. He would not want us to be sad, but to live it up and cherish the wonderful memories we have. Thank you for any help you can give. I appreciate you so much.
