Help Honor Robyn McGee's Legacy

My name is Natice R, better known as Miss Tee (I have been with LBUSD for over 20 years), and I never thought I would be doing one of these, but here we are. My mother, Robyn McGee, also known as Ms. M, Professor McGee, and a long-time active community member of Long Beach, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 18, 2025. I am her only child, and I was the one to find her inside her home. I am in complete shock and am absolutely devastated, as are her surviving relatives and friends.
Robyn was born in Boston, Massachusetts, on June 3, 1955, to my grandparents, William Sr. and Orelda. My grandfather was in the military, so they moved around when my mom and her siblings were kids until they eventually settled in California. My mom went to Garfield Elementary, St. Lucy’s and graduated from St. Anthony High School in 1973. She then went on to college at San Jose State. Robyn was a single mom raising me, and she was great. She worked so hard to take care of me. I always called her my hero. She traveled all over the world, met so many people, and impacted so many lives, and for that, I'm grateful. She's Long Beach through and through.
She was a professor at multiple schools and a writer at the time of her death. She had already had a book or two published, as well as a textbook that is used in schools. Unfortunately, as everyone knows, with unexpected death comes expenses, and I was not prepared for this, so I'm reaching out for a little help. Funeral costs, death certificates, and memorial costs are a lot, so if any of you can help out in any way, it would be greatly appreciated. When the time comes, I will have the date and times of the memorial, but it will be at St. Matthew's Church in Long Beach. That's about the only thing I know for sure.
God bless you all,
Miss Tee
