This GoFundMe originally started to help cover emergency surgery for our dog, Peso, after he was suddenly diagnosed with IVDD. It came on fast and aggressively, and we were quoted between $8,000–$11,000. The hospital required the full amount upfront, and even then, his chance of recovery was very low. We were faced with a heartbreaking decision, and we had to let him go.

Peso was barely four years old. He was smart, stubborn in the cutest way, and loved nothing more than snuggling close and loving everyone he met. He was the kind of dog who made every day better just by being in it.

This GoFundMe is now dedicated to honoring Peso’s life.

In his name, we are beginning the process of creating a foundation to help dogs who are at risk of, or suffering from, IVDD. Our goal is to make sure no family has to face what we did alone. We want to help cover surgery costs, provide mobility and disability support for dogs, and create a support community for families going through these terrifying and heartbreaking moments.

Peso was love. Peso was kindness. And through this foundation, we will keep that love going.
