Patti Gibson, mother, friend, an extraordinary person, has unfortunately lost her battle with cancer. Patti survived breast cancer years ago, and another type of cancer was detected less than five years ago. Patti is survived by her only son and best friend, Mike. This GoFundMe has been started to assist Mike with expenses for cremation, celebration of life service, and to assist with whatever other after-life expenses he may incur. Any and all help is appreciated.
Patti was a wonderful woman who would give the shirt off her back to help anyone. Patti would help her friends and local businesses with tasks such as painting, menu changes, Christmas decorations, writing college papers, and baking beautiful cakes to mark holidays or any special occasion. She was a woman of many talents. In her retirement, which began not too long ago, Patti was the busiest retired person I’ve ever witnessed. I was friends with Patti for 25 years and worked with her for some of those years. While I was back in college to get my bachelor's degree, Patti would come assist me until 6 AM to get a paper done for one of my English classes. She was so eloquent and knowledgeable with her words in writing and would assist me in papers that earned A grades! Patti would always lend a hand when needed. She was very involved in the community in San Juan Capistrano and was a staple at the old Marie Callender’s that is no longer. Managers at Marie Callender’s would call Patti to help with whatever challenges they had, even after she had retired. She would always go to assist. I can’t say enough about her to relay the message of how generous she was with her time. She symbolized a heart of gold and lived her challenging life in a way that always lifted others up. With this fundraiser, my hope is we all assist Mike to give Patti the type of celebration of life that reflects her ray of light and satisfies her wishes of having her ashes released in the beautiful ocean.
