Help Honor Patrick Maus with a Proper Farewell
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Cherr Taylor , my father is Patrick Maus. He was a loving father who took care of kids who wasn’t “biologically” his, he’s the sweetest, funniest person you would’ve ever met. But had a heart full of gold. On October of 2023, my father went into congestive heart failure, which spent time into the icu, unfortunately he wasn’t able to breathe on his own and couldn’t keep the tube in his mouth so we had to trach (tracheostomy) him. Months later he was still having issues of breathing on his own & has been transferred to a rehabilitation facility. In the hopes of him getting better. He would progress & decline but progress again. He was there he was awake, he would answer anything you would have to say. He was in full control and functioning. Unfortunately about 2 months ago around end of June he went more down hill, kept going back and fourth to the hospital not able to breathe. On August 16th my father was sent back to the hospital in the icu, I went to visit him on August 17th, talked about his care and he was really sick. He had pneumonia or fungus in his lungs. They were trying to determine what it was. But with all this the plan was to get better & he agreed. After talking to the doctor about the next steps and what to expect, this had not happened before. Once the doctor left the room I went to messing with my father, joking around with him making him feel better because I could only imagine how depressing it is to be in a bed non stop and told him I’ll see you Monday! Please get better I love you. Gave him my kiss and he decided to give me a kiss on the forehead.
Never did I think that would be the last time I was seeing him. Talking to him, holding his hand. I knew he was tired. But I thought we could get past this; every one did.
On August 18th, around 1 am I unfortunately missed two phone calls, my oldest sister answer the phone & was about to message me; I was able to see it bright in the morning, called the hospital to see what happened & it’s true. My dad passed away. His heart just wasn’t strong enough for everything he has went through.
If you know my family you know how much loss we’ve had these last few years.
my mom passed in 2020 & my biological dad passed in 2023.
We haven’t had anytime to be able to save money for a funeral costing or arrangement. We’re asking any family, or friends that is able to help donate it would be very appreciated. Any donation will be going to the cost of his cremation. We’re hoping to do a viewing with cremation and service for the people who were not able to say goodbye, including my sisters who is Jessica Maus who is 17 years old and Victoria Maus (disabled) who is 22 years old & my older sister who lives out of state Ashley Raybourne.
Please pray over my family during this really rough time!
Thank you for reading.
