Hello, my name is Marcisa, and I am in disbelief to be reaching out for help after the sudden and heart-wrenching loss of my older sister, Paris Cornelius. She passed away unexpectedly at just 40 years old on Sept 19th, 2025.

Paris was walking home from work to meet our mom and my daughter for a neighborhood event when she called my mom, gasping for breath. We rushed to get to her, but she was found facedown on the sidewalk with no pulse. She had a heart attack and, tragically, passed away alone before we were able to reach her.

I am truly in shock that this has happened and is happening. There is no warning or alert that tells you it's the last time you'll see someone. What I remember saying last to Paris is, "Do you want to watch Gilmore Girls with me?" I wish it was, "I love you, and I'm so sorry I won't be there."

Paris taught me to read and to tie my shoes. We were girls together, and I've never spent one day living separate from her. Even as an adult, I would still sit in her lap like I did as a kid.

My sister always had the biggest smile and wanted more for her life. She was baptized and a woman of faith, and her soul is now at rest.
