Help Honor Our Beloved Erin G.

I'm devastated to share the sudden and heartbreaking loss of my dear friend, Erin. I’ve started this GoFundMe to help raise funds for Erin’s Celebration of Life and to support her family through this painful and unimaginable time. Every contribution will go directly toward honoring her legacy and everything she loved most.

There are truly no words that can capture the magic of Erin. If you knew her, you loved her. It was impossible not to. She was the funniest, kindest, most authentic person I have ever met in my life. A one of a kind magnetic soul. Every moment I shared with her was bliss. Non stop laughter. The kind that makes your stomach hurt with tears streaming down your face. She had an irreplaceable wit and sense of humor that was truly something worth envying. She could some make even the most mundane activities feel like the Super Bowl of comedy. It was nonstop. We would build joke on top of joke on top of joke with one another, each somehow ten times funnier than the last. Spending time with her was one of my favorite things in this lifetime, and I will cherish those moments forever.

Erin was a summer babe. She lived for sunshine, long rides on her motorcycle and making everything around her lighter and brighter. She was the best daughter, sister, friend, and human being anyone could ask for. She made life so much more bearable just by existing.

In 2018, Erin followed her heart and moved to Detroit—a city she loved deeply and gave herself to fully. A lifelong lover of motorcycles, dirt bikes, and adventure, she eventually took a leap of faith and turned her passion into a business: Motown Mopeds. Through this labor of love, she gave people the opportunity to explore and fall in love with Detroit the same way she did—freely, fearlessly and with curiosity and joy.

One of Erin’s most heartfelt contributions was in the Detroit Public School system—not because it was easy, but because she truly wanted to make a difference. She gave her time, her energy, and her heart to her students and coworkers. She made people feel seen and believed heavily in the power of showing up for her community. She hustled so hard for her city every single day in every single way possible.

Erin meant the absolute world to me and so many other people. There isn’t a second that goes by where I will not think about the memories I've shared with her. Her absence has left a gaping hole in our lives that will never be filled. But through the stories we share, the laughter we remember, and the love she gave so freely, her spirit will live on.

We will love you and miss you forever, Erin. Thank you for everything.
