Our mother of 55 years passed away June 28th, 2025. My mother was diagnosed with a rare sarcoma cancer in May, a few days before Mother’s Day. Her name was Olivia Soto Ballesteros. She was admitted to the hospital for her first chemotherapy treatment June 17th. Her doctors advised us she would need to stay in the hospital a few days after her treatment to monitor her health, then she would be able to go back home. However, two days after her first chemotherapy treatment, she was admitted to the ICU. The doctors found several more health complications aside from her sarcoma cancer. Our mother fought the best she could for several days in the ICU, and on June 28th, she succumbed to her illnesses.

 

Our father died two years ago from a stroke. My family’s life became challenging without my father in the picture. My sister, mother, and I worked long days and hours to keep ourselves afloat. My mother did everything in her power to support our family. My mother remained resilient through the absence of my father, and remained present in every way she could.

 

My mother was charismatic. She was affectionate and benevolent. My mother was compassionate and warmhearted, and left impressionable marks on all the lives she touched.

 

We ask that you please donate to our fund to support the funeral costs for Olivia. The donations will cover all additional expenses related to the funeral, burial, ceremony etc.

Mi madre, de 55 años, falleció el 28 de Junio de 2025. A mi madre le diagnosticaron cáncer de sarcoma en Mayo, unos días antes del Día de las Madres. Su nombre era Olivia Soto Ballesteros. Mi mama fue ingresada al hospital para recibir su primer tratamiento de quimioterapia el 17 de Junio. Sus médicos nos informaron que tendría que permanecer en el hospital unos días después del tratamiento para monitorear su salud, y luego podría regresar a casa. 

Sin embargo, dos días después de su primer tratamiento, ella fue ingresada a la unidad de cuidados intensivos (UCI). Los médicos encontraron varias complicaciones de salud adicionales además del sarcoma cancer. Nuestra madre luchó con todas sus fuerzas durante varios días en la UCI, y el 28 de Junio, sucumbió a sus enfermedades. 

Mi padre falleció hace dos años a causa de un derrame cerebral. La vida de mi familia se volvió difícil sin mi padre presente. Mi hermana, mi madre y yo trabajamos largas jornadas para salir adelante. Mi madre hizo todo lo que pudo para apoyar a nuestra familia. Ella se mantuvo resiliente ante la ausencia de mi padre y siempre estuvo presente en todo lo posible. 

Mi madre era carismática. Era afectuosa y bondadosa. Fue compasiva y de gran corazón, y dejó una huella imborrable en todas las vidas que tocó.
