A Request for Support in Honoring Nicholas's Farewell
Nicholas called me Aunty Sharon. He had been living with Shaquille and I for some time now. On December 22nd, 2024, Nicholas and his son Jaden left my house to attend church. Earlier that day, I had gone out grocery shopping. During our last conversation, I called Nicholas to ask what Jaden liked, as I was planning to pick up a few things for them. He gave me a list, and I asked him to call me after church so they could help bring the groceries upstairs.
Later, I received a call from Jaden’s mother informing me that Nicholas had collapsed in front of the building and was taken to Brookdale Hospital by EMS, he was alert and aware. Unfortunately, later that night, his condition worsened, and he was transferred to New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center in New York City, where he fell into a coma.
Despite all efforts, Nicholas never recovered. On January 1st, 2025, he was taken off life support and peacefully transitioned.
Nicholas's family resides in Trinidad, and his mother, Jenny, is currently here with us. We are seeking support to ensure Nicholas receives a proper and respectful farewell. Any assistance during this difficult time would be deeply appreciated.
Thank you for your kindness and understanding.
Warm regards,
Sharon
