Help Honor Nadia Gomez's Legacy

Dear friends, family, and community,

With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Nadia Gomez — a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend, teacher, co-worker, role model, and warrior princess.

After fighting courageously against cancer since 2019, Nadia reached her final battle. What began as colon cancer eventually metastasized to her lungs and possibly her liver. Alongside her family, she had strong faith in God that she would be healed from this horrible disease. Despite the pain and endless treatments, her fighting spirit never wavered. She made it to Mother’s Day and spent it surrounded by her children and family, eating her favorite foods, smiling brightly, and having full conversations with those she loved most.

The very next day, her condition quickly worsened. Breathing became a struggle, and she was placed on medication to ease her suffering. Nadia passed away peacefully in her sleep, surrounded by her loving family.

Nadia touched countless lives through her years as a teacher and the deep friendships she nurtured. Everyone she met was special to her. She treated others with compassion, kindness, and love, especially her students, whom she cared for as if they were her own. She was tireless in making sure they had every resource to succeed.

She was also the most devoted mother. Her children gave her strength to get out of bed, even after nights filled with pain. Anyone who had the blessing of knowing her, knows how much she adored her children. She was looking forward to seeing her son graduate from high school on May 23rd, watching her daughter graduate from UCLA, and supporting her youngest as he began his high school journey. She even made it to the Mother-Son Dance with her two boys. Nadia was the best friend and wife any man could ever hope for. We were truly blessed to share life with her.

Her sudden passing has left an immeasurable void in our hearts. We are coming together to raise $40,000 to help cover funeral and memorial expenses, and to give Nadia the beautiful farewell she so deeply deserves.

Con mucho dolor en el corazón compartimos el fallecimiento de Nadia Gomez — una esposa, madre, hija, hermana, amiga, maestra, compañera de trabajo, modelo ejemplar y princesa guerrera.

Después de luchar valientemente contra el cáncer desde el año 2019, Nadia enfrentó su última batalla. Todo comenzó con cáncer de colon, que más tarde se extendió a los pulmones y posiblemente al hígado. Junto a su familia, mantenía una fe inquebrantable en Dios, confiando en que sanaría de esta dolorosa enfermedad. A pesar del dolor y los tratamientos, su espíritu nunca se rindió. Logró celebrar el Día de las Madres rodeada de sus hijos, comiendo sus platillos favoritos, sonriendo con fuerza y conversando con quienes más amaba.

Al día siguiente, su condición empeoró rápidamente. Le costaba mucho trabajo respirar y tuvo que ser medicada para ayudar a su cuerpo a relajarse y aliviar el sufrimiento. Nadia falleció tranquilamente mientras dormía, rodeada por su familia.

Nadia tocó muchas vidas durante sus años como maestra y a través de las amistades profundas que cultivó. Cada persona que conocía era especial para ella. Siempre trataba a los demás con compasión y amor, especialmente a sus estudiantes, a quienes cuidaba como si fueran sus propios hijos. Hacía todo lo posible por asegurarse de que tuvieran lo necesario para tener éxito.

También fue una madre increíblemente dedicada. Sus hijos eran su fuente de energía para levantarse cada día, incluso cuando pasaba noches enteras sin dormir debido al dolor. Quien tuvo la bendición de conocerla, sabe cuánto adoraba a sus hijos. Estaba emocionada por ver a su hijo graduarse de la preparatoria este 23 de mayo, ver a su hija graduarse de UCLA en junio, y acompañar a su hijo menor en su primer año de secundaria. Incluso asistió al baile de Madre e Hijo con sus dos niños. Nadia fue la mejor amiga y esposa que cualquier hombre pudiera desear. Fuimos verdaderamente bendecidos con su presencia en esta vida.

Su fallecimiento inesperado ha dejado un vacío profundo e irreparable en nuestros corazones. Por eso, estamos reuniendo fondos para recaudar $40,000 que nos ayudarán a cubrir los gastos del funeral y el servicio conmemorativo, y así brindarle a Nadia la despedida hermosa y digna que se merece.
