My name is Thomas, and I am reaching out for help to honor my parents, Hazel Johnson and James Johnson, with a headstone. My father passed away in 1983 after being hit by a car on Route 3, and my mother died in 1996 after a long struggle with drinking. Both of them are buried at Wilderness Baptist Church in Virginia, but their graves remain unmarked because I have never been able to afford a headstone for them.
Living on disability, every bit of my income goes toward making sure I have a roof over my head and food to eat. My brothers are in prison, so I have no family support to help with this. It has weighed on my heart for years that my parents do not have a proper marker to honor their memory. Having a headstone would mean so much to me and would finally give my parents the recognition and respect they deserve.
Anything you can give will help me reach this goal. Your kindness and support would mean the world to me. Please help me honor my parents with a proper marker. God bless you and thank you for taking the time to read my story.
