I am giving this a shot regarding my mother Roberta samuels . Over the last few years her health has declined. Not only has she beaten cancer 3 times, she also didn’t listen to the prognosis of 6 months to live when diagnosed with heart failure. She continued to fight. She is a second mom to many of my friends, a grandma, great grandma, and a friend. She loves Jesus deeply, and her faith was a guiding light in her life and for those around her. Now, she is at the end of life, and I got the call today that she has hours left in this world. As I sit with her in these final moments, the unfortunate reality set in on what happens next. Sadly, her life insurance lapsed six months ago, and I’m now solely faced with the challenge of covering her funeral expenses.

I don’t have the funds to pay for these expenses on my own. Unfortunately that’s the world we live in right now. The support from friends, family, and anyone who knew her would help cover the costs of her cremation and allow us to come together to celebrate the amazing person she is and the legacy she leaves behind. My plan is to have her ashes spread along with her late husband Steven (my dad who passed away in February 2009) lin the place they first met in San Francisco California. Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a difference and help us give her the farewell she deserves.
