My mother is the kindest lady anyone has ever met. She has touched the lives of so many, from family, friends, and church families in Hazard, Kentucky to Marion, Illinois. Her faith has been unwavering throughout her life, and she has always been a model Christian, loving her God and trusting that the Lord has been with her through every ordeal. Even as she faced cervical cancer for the second time, she never complained, showing incredible strength and grace. For the past 1.5 years, she has fought bravely, but her little body is just so tired. Hospice is coming every day now, and we know it won’t be long before she finds peace.

Our family was unable to afford life insurance, and when we called the funeral home, we learned that the cost to give her the farewell she deserves is significant. My mother’s wishes are simple and heartfelt: she would like to rent a casket for visitation, then be cremated so we can take her back home to Kentucky and lay her to rest with her mommy and daddy. The funds raised will help cover these expenses, provide flowers, and assist both our Kentucky and Illinois family with travel costs if they need help with gas or hotel to say their goodbyes.
