Teaching was my mom's whole world. She brought such light to the young art community, and so much passion. In honor of my mom's memory I am partnering with The Krasl Art Center and Water Street Glassworks to construct a glass memorial.
This work will a free standing sculpture with a bright and colorful off-primary palette, with glass pieces mounted on a steel framework (which I will contribute my blacksmithing skill to).
My mom loved glasswork more than anything. She was so proud of a scar she got from a glasswork class that she took; she always said it looked like a dragonfly.
We have lost my mom in the most tragic way imaginable. It is beyond what I can fathom. Please help us make this memorial a reality. Help us to remember all of the light and joy, curiosity, and beautiful weirdness that she brought to the world; hopefully, in this, we can continue a little bit of the light and beauty that we lost when we lost her.
Love and Gratitude,
Allyson
This money will help fund my mom's memorial commission first; any additional funds will help support the costs of her celebration of life and the personal needs of her daughters, Allyson and Elias.
