My grandma was a loving lady who worked hard her whole life. Her health began to decline after she contracted Covid in 2021, which led to three strokes and changed her forever. In 2024, she was diagnosed with congestive heart failure, and although she was on track and doing well for a while, her health and age eventually caught up with her. She passed away unexpectedly in her sleep this Thursday afternoon, March 12.

Unfortunately, my grandma had no funds accessible, as her will was never finished. The process of obtaining any funds to cover the costs of her cremation services will take 6-8 months with a lawyer’s help. My family is distraught and lives with pride, making it difficult to ask for help. As the only grandchild and a young adult in my family, I feel it is my duty to do this on behalf of my grandma, to ensure she receives the cremation she deserves and to allow my uncle and mother to grieve without this burden weighing heavily on their hearts.

My family is on the less fortunate side financially, and this situation has been extremely impactful and heart-wrenching for all of us. Kindness, love, and care are what make a community so powerful. Anything helps—a comment, a share, or a small donation. Thank you all for your support.
