My grandfather was the kind of person who would offer you a 7up just because he thought you needed a little sugar. He had a way of lighting up a room with his smile, and after he lost his teeth, his grin was even more endearing. He was a hardworking man, dedicating years to the city and over 15 years at Loadcraft. Despite facing many health challenges—heart attacks, strokes, dialysis, and countless trips in and out of nursing homes for physical therapy—he always kept his generous spirit and sense of humor.

Gardening was one of his greatest joys, especially growing jalapeños in his backyard. When his grandchildren joined him, he started a strawberry patch just for them, turning his garden into a place of laughter and love. He also loved playing pool, listening to cumbias and country music, and working on woodworking projects both big and small. His hands were always busy, and his heart was always open to friends and family.

Now, as we face the difficult task of saying goodbye, we are struggling to cover the costs of his funeral. My grandmother, his devoted wife, is also unwell and has trouble remembering things, which makes this time even harder for our family.
