My father Heriberto was a very hardworking man, throughout his whole life. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need and never asking for anything in return. He welcomed all family into his home, no matter how crowded it became, and his charm and warmth made him friends wherever he went. Eleven months ago, he was diagnosed with tonsil cancer, but even through his illness, he continued to work because he simply couldn't sit still. At 82 years old, he remained strong and full of life until the very end.

During his battle with cancer, we faced many challenges, including the threat of eviction and mounting bills that we could never quite catch up with. As his caregiver, I witnessed firsthand his resilience and generosity, but also the toll that these hardships took on our family. Now, as I try to honor his memory and give him the farewell he deserves, I am also facing the need to relocate and rebuild after losing both my father and our home.

Genuinely, I was very reluctant to start this for many reasons. But after caring for my dad these last 10 months, I realized we all need help sometimes. With everything falling on my shoulders, I now understand I can't do this alone. So here I am, humbly hoping for help from friends, family, and strangers to give my father the rest he deserves.
