My dad passed away so suddenly at just 57 years old. My family and I found out this past Sunday after not hearing from him for two weeks. It was heartbreaking to learn that he had passed when no one was around. My dad did not have any insurance or money saved up, which has left my family in a difficult financial situation as we try to give him the funeral he deserves.
Ten years ago, my dad was working two to three jobs to support us. Around that time, he was diagnosed with type II diabetes, which forced him to stop working because he began having complications with his legs and would pass out frequently due to the diabetes or not taking the proper amount of insulin. Over time, both of his legs were amputated due to infections. In the last two years, he was told his kidneys were failing and had to go to a dialysis center three times a week. Despite all of this, my dad never lost his sense of humor. He always told jokes and made everyone laugh, no matter where he went. He could turn any bad situation into something funny, and his storytelling made his jokes even better.
My dad was supposed to visit my mom’s house two weeks ago. He was so happy and excited, bringing gifts for all of us and especially his grandson. Sadly, he never got the chance to see us again because he’s now in heaven. We’re going to miss his hugs, smile, laughter, and comfort so much. My family is struggling with the funeral arrangements, and I don’t want my mom to lose hope. My dad suffered a lot these past ten years, but he always brought joy to those around him. He deserves a proper farewell, and any support would mean the world to us. Thank you for helping us honor his memory.
