My dad passed away on Easter Sunday from non-alcoholic liver disease. He spent his final days in the hospital, but he was surrounded by family who loved him deeply. He was a devoted grandpa to twelve grandchildren, and a great grandbaby on the way, and being a grandpa was truly one of his greatest joys. He also cherished his siblings and always put his family first.

Even as his health declined, my dad tried to protect us from worry. He was a faithful, hardworking man who quietly began paying off his own funeral, not wanting to burden us. Unfortunately, he passed sooner than expected, and there is still an unpaid balance for his funeral expenses. Losing him has been incredibly painful, and we weren’t fully prepared for the financial side of things.
