Last week, my cousin Diego Aaron Montalvo was tragically struck by a train in Union City on April 14th at around 2:30pm. This is by Decoto Rd. The accident was so sudden and unexpected that it took authorities a week to identify his body and finally reach out to me. He was only 27 years old—a true sweetheart who had just fixed his paperwork to be here and start a new chapter in his life. Losing him has been incredibly hard for our family, and I never imagined I would be in the position of planning a funeral for someone so young and full of hope.
I have never planned a funeral before, and the financial burden of arranging his farewell is overwhelming. The funds raised will go directly toward funeral expenses, memorial services, and helping our family begin the process of saying goodbye. Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a real difference in allowing us to honor his memory and give him the proper farewell he deserves.
This all happened overnight, and it’s a reminder that any of us could find ourselves in a similar situation. I am so blessed and grateful for anyone who is able to help. Your support means the world to me and my family during this incredibly difficult time. Thank you.
