Help Honor Matthew with a Beautiful Headstone

I never imagined I would be in this position, but I find myself reaching out for your support during the most difficult time of my life. On May 13, 2024, my beloved son, Matthew, went into the hospital for what we thought would be a routine tonsil surgery. Tragically, after the procedure, he went into cardiac arrest in the recovery room.

Matthew fought valiantly for his life over the next 40 days. However, the cardiac arrest caused severe damage to his kidneys and led to internal bleeding in his lungs and GI tract. Despite the relentless efforts of the incredible medical team at Texas Children’s Hospital, they were unable to stop the bleeding.

On June 21, 2024, we faced an unimaginable decision. We had to let our precious Matthew go and remove his breathing tubes. He passed away at the tender age of 17, and we laid him to rest on July 3, 2024.

Matthew was a bright light in this world, known for his infectious smile and the way he could make anyone feel loved and happy. His personality truly lit up every room he entered, and he brought joy to everyone around him.

In honor of Matthew’s beautiful spirit, I want to give him a fitting tribute by providing him with a beautiful headstone. I am humbly asking for your help with these expenses. Any donation, no matter the size, will make a tremendous difference and help me honor my son’s memory in a way that reflects the love and light he brought into our lives.

The road ahead is long, and the medical bills from Matthew’s battle are overwhelming. But for now, my focus is on giving him the beautiful resting place he deserves. Your support means the world to me and will help me take this important step in celebrating Matthew’s life.
