It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mother and wife, Martha K. Silver. She was a remarkable woman—loving, selfless, and a constant source of light to everyone who knew her. While we are heartbroken by her loss, we are committed to giving her the respectful and peaceful farewell she truly deserves.

Her death was so sudden and unfortunately we were not prepared for the costs. To honor her memory, we are hoping for assistance in covering the costs of her funeral and cremation. These expenses are part of the process of saying goodbye, and any contribution, no matter the size, will help ensure that we can celebrate her life in the way she always deserved—surrounded by love and dignity.

Tonight, at 5:03 PM, I lost one of the most incredible women I’ve ever known — my mom. Surrounded by family, she fought so hard until the very end, but she gave in after the third time her heart stopped.

My mom was one of the brightest, most caring people to ever walk this earth. Her warmth, her energy, her kindness — there was no one like her. She gave everything she had to everyone she loved, always putting others’ needs above her own. She would give anyone the shirt off her back without a second thought. Her selflessness was unmatched.

She was also my rock. I truly don’t know where I’d be without her — she helped shape me into the woman I am today. She taught me how to be independent, how to stand strong in my own truth, and how to care deeply for others. Her love was unconditional, and she made me believe in myself, no matter what.

This morning, Mom was short of breath, so I called an ambulance. She was rushed to the ER, and the doctors and nurses worked tirelessly to stabilize her. They did everything they could to get her breathing under control, but her condition worsened, and they decided to intubate her. What followed was a series of battles including a seizure and then cardiac arrest. Mom had been battling breast cancer and was actually kicking it's ass. She got through her double mastectomy like a champ, and was doing well with chemo. Unfortunately with her immune system compromised they believed she had an infection, sepsis and a blood clot.

I could always turn to her, no matter what. Whether it was a small question or something big weighing on my heart, I knew I could call her, and she’d be there in an instant — ready to listen, to comfort, to help in any way she could. There was never a time she wasn’t there for me, ready to drop everything to be by my side. She was my go-to, my safe space, the person who always had the right words to make everything feel better. The thought of not being able to call her when I need her is a pain I can’t fully put into words. But I will hold onto those moments and the strength she gave me, carrying them with me as I navigate life without her.

I’ll forever be grateful to the doctors and nurses who did everything they could to save her. But no one could’ve fought harder than she did. Mom, you are one of the best things to ever happen to me, and you’ll always be the heart of our family. There’s a hole in my heart now that will never be filled, but I will carry you with me every day. I will continue to live as you taught me to — fiercely, unapologetically, and with a heart full of love for others. I will miss you more than words could ever express, but I will hold your love and everything you taught me in my heart forever. I am feel so lucky and thankful to have been loved by someone like you.
