On September 24th, 2025, our beloved mother, Jane Lou Renskers, lovingly known to everyone as Mama Jane, passed away after a brief but devastating battle with cancer. She was only diagnosed with Stage 4 liver cancer on July 24th, just two months before her passing. None of us could have imagined how quickly her illness would progress, and our time with her was far too short.
Mama Jane had a one-of-a-kind spirit. She had a dry, witty, and sarcastic sense of humor that could make anyone laugh, even in the hardest of times. She was selfless almost to a fault, always willing to drop everything to help anyone in need, no matter the time or place. She felt deeply called to support people fighting to make positive changes in their lives — especially those overcoming addiction.
Many people have shared that Mama Jane was the very person who got them through their darkest moments. She never judged, and her love was always unconditional. Her encouragement, compassion, and presence gave people the strength to keep going when they didn’t believe they could. Her impact on the lives she touched will never be forgotten.
Most of all, Mama Jane loved being surrounded by people — her family, and the many friends she welcomed in and made family along the way. She truly lived for connection, and everyone who knew her could feel the warmth of her heart.
Her passing has left a hole in our hearts, but one of the deepest impacts is felt by her 4-year-old grandson, whom she helped raise. He had never been apart from her for more than a few days in his life. To him, Mama Jane was not only a grandmother, but also a daily caregiver, protector, and best friend. Their bond was unbreakable, and her absence is felt every single day.
Because her illness was so sudden and progressed so quickly, she did not have life or burial insurance, nor any assets set aside. Our family is now faced with the unexpected challenge of covering even the immediate costs of the funeral home picking her up and handling her cremation, as well as the additional expenses of urns, keepsakes, and a memorial to honor her life.
We are hoping to raise enough to cover:
Funeral home expenses (transportation and cremation. This alone is around $3000 and necessary to recieve her ashes.)
Urns and keepsakes for her children, grandchildren, and loved ones
A celebration of life where friends and family can gather to honor Mama Jane and share the stories and memories that made her so special
Any donation, no matter the amount, will help us give her the farewell she deserves. If you are unable to give, we would be so grateful if you could share this fundraiser with others who knew her or who may want to help.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your love, generosity, and support during this heartbreaking time. Your kindness means more than we can express.
With love and gratitude,
Carley, Krista, Beep & Family
