My father, Lyle McLaughlin, passed away on January 5th, 2026 after a long battle with dementia. I always believed he had a life insurance policy, but I recently discovered that he did not. This has left me with no funds to pay Schaffer Funeral Home for his cremation, and I am reaching out for help during this difficult time.

The funds raised will go directly toward the cost of his cremation and an urn for his ashes. There will not be any services at this time, but I am planning a small gathering this summer at Flathead Lake in Polson, MT, where I will spread his ashes. Flathead Lake was his home, and I know he will be at peace there. My dad was a proud veteran who served in the US Navy on an aircraft carrier, and he will be honored for his service.
