My mother, Leslie Maureen Cook, and her identical twin sister, Lisa Colleen Cook, shared a bond that was truly special. Born together on September 15, 1965, they lived their lives to the fullest supporting each other through every joy and hardship. Four years ago, Lisa passed away, leaving a deep ache in my mother’s heart. Since then, Leslie missed her sister every day, and her world was never quite the same.
In January, my mother suffered a cardiac arrest. Miraculously, she survived, but her health and spirit continued to decline. She struggled with severe depression and often spoke about how much she missed Lisa. The day after the fourth anniversary of Lisa’s passing, my mother was found dead in her home. She was only 60 years old. Since her cardiac arrest, she had not been able to work and had no savings to cover her final expenses. Now we are faced with the overwhelming costs of cremation and a funeral
Lisa was known for her incredible kindness—she never had a bad word to say about anyone. My mother, Leslie, could make friends wherever she went. I know they touched many lives, and I’m reaching out in the hope that those who knew and loved them might help us honor their memory. Your support will help us fulfill their wish to be together again and get through this difficult time. Thank you for any help you can give.
