My name is Alyssa Hock and I am raising money for my mother, Karen Moore, final expenses and bills. My mother passed away the morning of 09/23/2025 after a three-year battle with lung cancer. Karen was so determined to beat the disease that in 2022 she cashed in her life insurance policy so that she could purchase a used vehicle in order to get back and forth to treatment. She got the vehicle and did just that. She drove herself to every chemo and radiation appointment, and in June of 2024, she was told that it worked and her cancer had gone. That diagnosis was short-lived. Mom's cancer came back quickly and strongly. From November 2024 to August 2025, Mom had been in and out of the hospital more times than I can remember. Her last stay in the hospital lasted almost a month, and after numerous procedures to try to improve her condition, the doctors let her know that she had exhausted all options. Mom was to be released into home hospice care with a time of up to 6 months to live. Mom had lived by herself in her same apartment for 13 years, which was about 20 miles away from my sister and me. Within days, my sister and I moved my mother's things out of her apartment and into my sister's so that we could both be there to care for her. By this time, finances were very tight with all the medicines and the extra equipment/furniture needed for her care. Less than three weeks after her release, Mom's condition deteriorated rapidly over the last four days. It was all so sudden. Karen was loved by all that had the privilege to meet her. She never had much financially through life, but if she had a dollar and you needed it, then it was yours, no questions asked. My mother worked two jobs most of her life just to take care of her kids and all our friends that considered her "mom" as well. I am asking anyone that can to please donate to help make sure that all Karen's needs are taken care of just as she always cared for everyone.
