My name is Jahaira Soto and I am writing this with a broken heart as the mother of my beloved son, Justin Soto. On 04/5/26, our lives changed forever when Justin unexpectedly passed away from pneumonia. This loss came so suddenly – we were not prepared for it at all. Justin was a kind young man who loved making people laugh, my everything, full of life and dreams. He brought so much joy, love, and light into our family, and his absence leaves an enormous hole that can never be filled.

As his mother, I am devastated and still trying to process that he is gone. The grief feels overwhelming, and on top of that, we now face the heavy burden of funeral and memorial expenses that we were never financially prepared for. Costs for the service, burial or cremation, and other arrangements have added a level of stress during a time when we should only be focused on remembering and honoring Justin.
