We ask for your help in making sure the life of John "Prince" Gilbert is properly celebrated and making sure his loved ones can get the closure they deserve.

John Gilbert was a man who left an unforgettable mark on the world around him. Whether it was his work in almost every major brass band in the last 40 years (Rebirth, Hot 8, New Birth, Treme Brass Band, and many more), his contribution to one of the most played songs in brass band history, "Do Whatcha Wanna," or the love he showed the people close to him, he left behind a massive legacy.

Unfortunately, his death was unexpected, and despite his achievements, he did not see the material rewards that he deserved in his lifetime. Please help us make his final journey one worthy of somebody who meant so much to so many. Thank you.
