Hello, my name is Dave Dormeus. I’m 27, residing in the south side of Florida. I’ve been sharing a two-bedroom with my father, Jean Dormeus. It’s just been us for about a year. My dad spent most of his time working on the road, driving his truck. He would visit home for 1-2 weeks and be right back on the road for another 4-6 weeks.
In May, my dad had a stroke. I was terrified for his health but happy he would be home so I could help him. The stroke was intense, and my dad had to go through physical therapy and around-the-clock care before he started showing signs of getting better. My dad is a strong individual and kept fighting until November 15th, when he took his final breath. It’s earth-shattering losing my heart, I’m at a loss of what to do now. My dad passed at the age of 57, he still had so many years ahead of himself.
I’ve decided to bring my story here because my father deserves a proper burial. He worked his whole life to make sure me and my sister were taken care of and I miss him dearly. I’m doing my best to support my family as an Airplane Engineer but I unfortunately was unemployed for a few months due to the government shutdown. I finally found a new job but I’m not getting paid in time for his burial. My dad will be laid to rest in Haiti, that is where he is from and where he rest now. All funds donated will be allocated towards my dads funeral.
Please, if you can, share this message with friends and family it would mean everything to me and my family. Any donations are greatly appreciated and will not go unnoticed . Thank you for taking the time to read my story and help support in this time of need and grief.
