On November 20th, 2025, our beloved mother, Jean A. Sampson, passed away peacefully at the nursing home. Even though we knew her health was declining, nothing truly prepares you for the moment you lose your mom. Our hearts are heavy, and we are doing our best to support one another during this difficult time.

Jean—affectionately known as “Jean-Annie” or “Momzee”—was a strong Navajo woman who lived her life with quiet resilience, a ready laugh, and unconditional love for everyone around her. She was a mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and best friend. She raised each of us with prayers, songs, and patience, teaching us to look after one another, to be kind, and to show ourselves compassion. She is survived by her four sons and one daughter. Born and raised in Monument Valley, she loved the land, NAC songs, and prayer.

We want to honor her last wish of being laid to rest in Blanding, Utah, beside the family she loved deeply and the mountains nearby. We are asking for help with burial costs and the expenses surrounding her date of rest, including funeral home services, casket and preparation, burial plot, death certificates, and travel and family arrangements. Her graveside service will be held on November 25, 2025, at 11 AM in Blanding, Utah. If you knew her and would like to pay your respects, you are welcome to join us. Any amount truly helps—even a share. Our family is doing our best to cover everything and ensure she is honored properly and respectfully. Thank you for your prayers, your kindness, and any help you’re able to offer. Our mother meant everything to us, and we are deeply grateful for your support during this painful time.

With love, Pearl, Harold, Ritchie, Elroy, & Rosallez
